Where Complex Care Meets Unconditional Compassion

Children’s Habilitation Center operates in one of healthcare’s most complex and underserved spaces: long-term pediatric habilitative care for medically complex children. For decades, CHC has delivered a model that traditional hospitals and nursing facilities are not designed to provide, combining specialized medical services, ventilator support, education, and therapeutic care under one roof.

As one of the largest pediatric ventilator-capable facilities of its kind in the United States, CHC supports children whose care journeys span months or years, not days. Many are under state guardianship or face systemic barriers that place them outside conventional healthcare pathways. CHC exists to meet those needs with precision, stability, and compassion, providing consistency in a system where continuity is often difficult to achieve.

What sets Children’s Habilitation Center apart is not a single service, but an integrated system built to promote positive, long-term outcomes for residents. Clinical excellence is paired with education, family-centered support, and advocacy to create a continuum of care. For policymakers and funders, this approach offers a trusted, low-friction solution: one organization delivering stability, accountability, and measurable progress for children with extraordinary medical needs.

In an era focused on efficiency, resilience, and impact, CHC is a vital part of the healthcare infrastructure, redefining what is possible for medically complex children and their futures.

SETTING THE STANDARD IN PEDIATRIC HABILITATION

Since opening the doors in February of 1972, Children’s Habilitation Center (CHC) has refined the specialized care process for medically complex children. Over 50+ years of knowledge, development, and technological advancements have allowed CHC to become the largest pediatric ventilator-capable facility of its kind in the United States.
